12月31日から１月３日は当初、パース＠メルボルンの４連戦が予定されていましたが、新型コロナの影響で急きょ日程が変更に。パースに代わり、キャンベラがメルボルン入りし、１月２日、３日の２日間でキャンベラ＠メルボルンの３連戦が開催されました。

◎メルボルンからキャンベラに選手貸し出し！

新型コロナ禍中の開催となった、今季のABL。中でも他チーム以上に影響を受けたのが、キャンベラでした。NSW州在住の選手が越境できず、不在。そのうえ、今回はパースに代わって急きょメルボルン入りすることになり、準備不足は否めませんでした。

　その救いとなったのが、メルボルンからの選手貸し出し。メルボルンの投手２名、野手２名の計４名がオレンジ色のユニフォームに身を包み、この３連戦に出場しました。
　サム・ストリート、ジェレミー・ヤング両投手は今季初登板、リース・ロングスタッフ選手はABLデビューを果たし、チャーリー・コリンズ選手は打席に立つチャンスが。メルボルンではリザーブだった選手たちに出場機会が与えられたことで、貸し出されたキャンベラだけでなく、長い目で見ればメルボルンにも利のあった今回の選手貸し出しでした。
